Planes, J-shaped spine & Anatomical Position

The first plane to comprehend on the path of yoga is the Transverse Plane.

This plane is the same as the flat floor, we stand on it and it ground us.

“J” shape spine is the ideal shape for a strong healthy back.

The Anatomical Position is the starting and ending steps for every standing yoga position.

The Coronal and Sagittal planes are the trajectories where movement takes place.

The Lateral Half moon or any position that follows side to side movements are done in the coronal.

Back bend (extension) and forward (flexion) or any position that follows back or forward movements are done in the sagittal plane.
